Phu Quoc Beach

Check out this shot that I took after I checked into the resort in Phu Quoc. I couldn’t help how beautiful the view was that I had to run to the beach and snap a picture. The beaches at Phu Quoc are some of the finest beaches in the world. If you make a trip to Vietnam, make sure you visit Phu Quoc. A one way ticket from Saigon to Phu Quoc costs roughtly $30USD, and the flight took about 45 minutes. We stayed at the Sasco Blue Lagoon Resort, which was newly built in 2006, so the quality was exceptional. We paid about $50USD a night for for a room on the beach. I highly recommend this resort, especially if you’re there for your honeymoon. I have many photos of this resort that I’ll post later on, if there’s any interest.

I’ve been really busy catching up with work and all kinds of things, which is why I haven’t written anything for a while.  Just wanted to briefly share some pictures with you.  These are a few of the pictures I have — I’ve got about a thousand others, much, much better ones that I will share in the future.  Check them out here.

2006 Tour Completed

We just got home yesterday at about 8PM.  It was a long flight, but I slept most of the way, so it wasn’t that bad.  We left the hotel at 4AM in Saigon and I arrived home in Herndon, Virginia at about 8PM, which makes the door-to-door time 28 hours.  It was a great trip, but I definitely missed my bed at home here.  It felt so good to be sleeping on my own bed, using my own premium towels, etc.  Ah, home sweet home!  I’ll post the pictures soon.

Ben Thanh Market

We have two more nights left in Saigon before we leave for home in the States.  I was shopping at Ben Thanh Market yesterday and the experience blew my mind away.  I wanted to buy two shirts, which they quoted at 500,000 dongs.  I kept bargain the price down to about 120,000 dongs, when they told me that I was cheap as I walked away.  Funny thing was after that they called me back and sold the two shirts to me for 115,000 dongs.  The moral of the story — bargain, bargain, bargain.

From Saigon to Hue

JZ and Dan just headed for Hue about 10 minutes ago.  I stayed back in Saigon to relax, since Michael is heading back to the US tomorrow.  It’s been a great trip so far.  Now, it time to relax before we head back to the US.  Oh.  One thing I want to mention.  Internet Cafes no longer open 24 hours here in Saigon.  They all must close at 12AM, otherwise they would be fined 10 million vietnamese dongs.
